Cause and Effect
Today, I started a new unit which is "Cause and Effect" Does it is about? Do you know exactly? what it is about.
Actually, it is used to show how the facts or concepts result due to other facts, events or concepts. Words that signal this type of text structure are because, since, therefore, if,...then, as a result of, thus, and hence. A graphic organizer may be used to represent the relationship between the causes and effects.
Before we started learning this content, the teacher gave us discuss causes and effects of global warming by writing on the whiteboard.

After we finished thinking about the causes and effects of global warming already, she explained what they are. Then, we did text example by reading and writing the graphic organizer diagram of causes and effects respectively.
I would like to show you an example of this hand out
Students are not allowed to chew gum in my class. While some students think that I am just being mean, there are many good reasons for t, this rule. First, Some irresponsible students make messes with their gum. They may leave it on the bottoms of desks, drop it on the floor, or put it on other people's property. Another reason why I don't allow students to chew gum is because it is a distraction. When they are allowed to chew gum, students are more worried about having it, popping it, chewing it, and snapping it then they are in listening, writing, reading, and learning. This is why I do not allow students to chew gum in my class.

And she would like us to write causes and effect of this text in graphic organizer diagram which is as follow:
From this picture, you can see some irresponsible students make mess with their gum and chewing gum is a distraction. These make the students are not allowed to chew gum.
Then, we see a lot of discourse markers in the text. So, she assigned us to find the meaning and how to use them in the sentence.
Next, we did Skill Practice 2 by reading the text and then, rearranged choices in the text as paragraph organization. In my opinion, I think it is quite difficult but if I read deliberately, I can do it.
After that, we started reading in the next text which is related with the Titanic hit an iceberg. She gave us to read and rearranged choices correctly.
The text is about the Titanic hit an iceberg. The causes was lack of lifeboat. The crew did not know about the Titanic and they had little time to get to know the ship and its emergency equipment. Furthermore, The ship's officers ignored the warnings about icebergs near the ship. These factors caused the ship hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic and sank, with the loss of over 1,500 lives.
After we finished studying, some of us had to present about the recipe to her. At this time, I was so excited and sure that I had done my work as well.

Finally, she assigned us to read the last text which is The Effects of Stress as homework. And we have to study with her on this Tuesday. After I finished my class, I feel exhausted. But I can do it for my mother. No matter how arduous it is, I can do it for her.

What did you get from this news?
I also knew that having migraines in children shouldn't be ignored. Their parents should notice or ask them if they have a symptom like headache. In addition, parents should motivate their children to sleep early, have breakfast before going to school etc. If the children have extremely symptoms, their parents should take them go to see doctors in order to remedy respectively. Don't be overlooked and ignored this problem directly.

What did you learn today?
I started learning new unit which was Causes and Effects and learnt how to do the graphic organizer diagram of causes and effects after I finished reading.
What did you find easy?
In my opinion, Finding the discourse markers was easy for me. Because I know these conjunction as well. I will learn as much as I can in order to understand and do in testing as well.
What did you find difficult?
In my opinion, thinking about what was causes and effects was quite hard for me. I need to analyze as much as by reading more in order to analyze as well.
What did you solve the problem?
I tried to pay attention during the class and wrote my answers on the whiteboard in order to be advised by the teacher whether they are wrong.
What are your attitudes towards the lesson?
I think that this lesson is important in reading. I have read the books and I see the text that require what is the causes and effects from the text. Hence, practice reading is the best way to understand this lesson as well.
